A blast from the past!

Heather Zezeck (of Osageland 1.0) wandered through from NYC today. I'm glad to report that she's doing super-well; she's doing graduate work at NYU and loving it!

Here we are enjoying some sun.

Impromptu back yard barbeque

We threw together a barbecue on Saturday. Somehow, everyone who came pitched in to help out or do a household chore. The whole experience helped me to appreciate what kind and giving people I have in my life. Also, what fun and entertaining friends they are!

Crispy tofu with rice noodles by Christa

Our newest addition Christa threw a fat dinner party to celebrate her friends' engagement! It was awesome.

Check out the awesome cake Christa made:

We also played apples to apples, and check out these cards.

Fakesgiving!

At least for this camper, Thanksgiving isn't always that much fun. With family tensions running high, the opportunity to be reflective and thankful with I have is often missed. So this year, I decided to gather my friends and some of theirs round to celebrate Fakesgiving. It was a fun night, culminating in a women of osageland dance party to the hits of the 80s/90s and classical music. I eventually went to bed, but I believe Abigail and Andrea were raging on to "Noting Compares to You."

Sandy is mean AGAIN!

Hurricane Sandy hit the east coast two weeks ago, followed by a Nor' easter, and the power was [still?] out on Baltimore Avenue when the ladies of Osageland hit the streets....

It was good times! Good, candle-lit times!

With our new housemate Abigail Weathers in tow, there was much discussion of pressing house issues--1 ply versus 3 ply, how many osagelanders it takes to change a light bulb, etc. With business out of the way, we discussed our various exotic food-adventures which included spam-and-pea-fried rice to the tune of a Titanic rerun, played on one of those TV/VCR combo machines in a remote corner of Chica. On the other side of the world, Abby visited a Indian-run Chinese restaurant in Syria, where she got a haunting bollywood tune stuck in her head. But we were on a culinary adventure right there and then. Andrea had to use her camera to see the food....

Speaking of food adventures, it's about time I [randomly] post an image of the ice cream sundae we ate back in September:

Expect more random posts of Osageland past in the near future!!!

Goin' down to browntown

After over a year of sitting on the idea, The Brown Face finally materializes.
