Caught Between a Credenza and a Hard Place
I found this credenza on the sidewalk and I felt it needed a home, and with a little love I could provide that home. Special thanks to Nooreen for the purple paint. The only thing left is to paint a picture on the top. Here is what it looks like now:

I have can do pretty much any color, white, off white, yellow, light blue and orange for the picture. Now, I need your help deciding on the image.
A)Sciencity (click me for a better view, I'm thinking either the white or the yellow pictured below)

B)Barcode (I don't know whether to just put it on one side, or in the middle of the table)

C) Scrolltop (There is already a slight "X" shaped depression in the tabletop that might make this design look kinda weird)

That is a cool little table, and an even cooler shade of purple. ((But the coolest part of all, of course, is the crooked tie!))
My vote is definitely for Sciencity. I think it's a neat concept image by itself, but would also work on the credenza. And it compliments your inner science nerd. ;)
And my inner art nerd wants to say Go Yellow!!! because I am a huge fan of purple/yellow color combinations...but then I think the white looks a little better as a cityscape/science-scape silhouette.
Either way, great stuff Raj!
this is clear:
city. yellow.
Science City IS tight, but Imma hafta go w/ barcode only because
1)Science city only looks like Science upon further investigation....so that means you'll constantly be pointing it out to ppl which is wack.
2)Barcode is pretty cool
3)Actually, the table's colors are so awesome that it will attract ppl naturally, so I guess I'm changing to Science City.
Katy, what do YOU think?

I'm partial to the barcode design on one end of the tabletop, possibly in white. I'm debating whether the city is too much crap on the tabletop, so it'll look weird. Also, its going to be a pain in the ass to paint.
a) If you went with Sciencity, I'd go with silver, or lilac (tone-on-tone rulez!).
b) My only concern with Barcode is it would be really hard to make it look so precise. It would take an awful lot of taping -- but if you did manage to make it look real, i agree with jamantha's first instinct. White & left side to balance the items on the right (maybe add more items). Also, and most importantly, you should make the numbers mean something. I suggest "718114 416123" but will let you figure out why (YAY FOR RIDDLES!).
c) I'm partial to the swirlies, but thats only cuz i love swirlies. They would look even cooler with something in the middle, like, say, this.
First of all, what's wrong with it the way it is? Minimalism is still in, guys. Why don't you just line a few more cool frames along the back instead?
But if it had to be something, my vote goes for Sciencity. Not only is this design creative and geek-chic, but it'd look awesome along the bottom in white (Although I guess you could show a little LA PrYdE with the yellow-- Go Lakers, anyone?). And the best part of Sciencity: the meshing of the words Science and City!!
Curlyswirlies would also be a good choice. I'd have to say this was actually my first choice since I like the simplicity of it, but I think you're right on that it'd look odd with the X.
Oh and for the love of G-d, don't go with Barcode. The design is so prosaic nowadays and would be as tacky as sticking an actual UPC code on it. Bleepbllmooop!

Hey Katy, the barcode number is a real barcode. It is the number that appears on the back of my copy of Anthony Burgess' classic "A Clockwork Orange".
sciencity, no question.
barcodes are so played, and curlicues are so hippie.
Arg, Lakers. I didn't even think about that.
Teal FTW!
I change my vote. You need to put two of these babies back to back on your table!!
(But if you do insist on Sciencity, go with the blue!)
Nice colors. Keep up the good work. thnx!
